Chavez's perspiration tells how dangerously close Venezuela came to a socialist firing of their democracy. The popular referendum vote for his Constitutional amendments, one of them extending the term of a presidency (his presidency), failed. Probably a good thing, although this American feels cautious recommending any policy to a country still grappling in the chains of economic imperialism.
